UAE to ban single-use plastic from 2024

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will ban most single-use plastic products from 2024, according to Ministerial Resolution No. 380 of 2022, issued on 10 January 2023, the Biodegradable Materials Institute reports. The resolution states that the import, production or circulation of single-use plastic (including biodegradable plastic) shopping bags will be banned from 1 January 2024.
